In 1991, ‘G’ aka ‘Chemdog’ — bought an ounce of Dogbud from two guys in the parking lot of a Grateful Dead show at Deer Creek, Indiana for. Later, a mailed ounce from the same source contained thirteen seeds. Those seeds became the genetic backbone of modern American cannabis.

Chem D is one of the original three sisters from that batch. Where Chem 91 runs skunky and lemony, Chem D goes in a different direction entirely — rubbery, chemical, raunchy funk that serious collectors either love immediately or need a minute to appreciate. Slightly more indica-leaning than her sisters, thicker branching, better yield, and resin production that made her the go-to parent for a generation of breeders chasing gas. If you’ve smoked anything with serious chemical funk in the last twenty years such as GMO,  there’s a good chance Chem D is somewhere in the family tree.

I flew to New York in 2006, traded Greg a couple of Chemdog 91 clones, and came home with this. She has been in my garden since. Clone only. Limited availability.
